RAM
Lodge number: 380

Established (Warrant): 1926

Although having no formal link to the Mark Degree, the Ancient and Honourable Fraternity of Royal Ark Mariner falls under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Mark Master Masons, and it is necessary to be a Mark Mason in order to join a Royal Ark Mariner Lodge. Royal Ark Mariner Lodges are also said to be ‘moored’ to a Mark Lodge bearing the same number, and generally the same name.

The Royal Ark Mariner ceremony is very enjoyable to work and is based around the legend of the Great Flood (or Deluge) and the involvement of Noah and his Family, all as related in the Bible. It uses these historic happenings to demonstrate and build upon established Masonic principles and values. Meetings will naturally tend to generate the same friendly and happy atmosphere that is enjoyed in the Mark Degree.

Folkestone Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners meet at the Sandgate Centre twice annually, in May and November, with the Installation being in May. The Lodge are a Grand Patron Diamond Lodge for the Mark Benevolent Fund and achieved the Platinum Award in the Kent Mark 2020 Festival. New Lodge members will always be welcome.
